In a celebration of camaraderie, competition, and community spirit, Woolliams Farms Ltd. successfully wrapped up its 2nd Annual Charity Golf Classic on July 26 th , 2024. Held at the Woodside Golf Course, the event not only showcased impressive golfing talent but also underscored Woolliams commitment to fostering relationships within the local and business communities.

A Day of Golfing Excellence
The tournament, which took place on a sunny Friday, drew an enthusiastic crowd of golfers and supporters. With a full roster of participants, the event featured a mix of seasoned golfers and enthusiastic amateurs, all eager to hit the greens.

Competitive Spirit and Sportsmanship
The tournament followed a traditional 18-hole format with a mix of individual and team competitions. Players vied for top honors in various categories, including the coveted Best Overall Score, Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Most Honest and Best Dressed.

Community Engagement and Charitable Support
This year’s tournament was particularly special as Woolliams Farms Ltd. used the event as a platform to support the Airdrie Health Foundation with regards to mental health in agriculture, received a substantial boost thanks to the tournament. Woolliams Farms Ltd. raised just shy of $60,000, a figure that will significantly aid the foundation’s important work.

“We’re thrilled with the turnout and the generosity of everyone involved,” said Woolliams. “Mental health in agriculture is a critical issue, and we’re proud to contribute to such a vital cause. It’s important to us that our events make a positive impact beyond just the day’s play.”

With the funds raised through the Woolliams Farms Ltd Charity Golf Classics thus far, the Airdrie Health Foundation was able to purchase a ProMote robot. ProMote is the new way to achieve health. Starting as a research and development project, ProMote now provides access to rural community members to care they cannot access in their home communities, including specialized rehabilitation services and access to mental health care. Supported by technologies like marker less motion capture and a telepresence robot, ProMote allows patients to connect with their clinicians from their home community, and provides clinicians with the in-depth information they need to assess and treat their patients effectively.

Looking Ahead
The success of the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament sets a high bar for future events. Woolliams Farms Ltd. has already announced plans for the next tournament, promising to build on the achievements of this year’s event and continue strengthening ties within the community.

“We’re already looking forward to next year,” Woolliams concluded. “Events like this remind us of the importance of community and the joy that can be found in coming together to support each other.”
